2050
The 2050 curriculum asks students to engage with how the world will work in 2050, using world-leading forecasting approaches and considering big shaper technologies like artificial intelligence, climate change, genomic editing.
What young people will learn
- Research - research a topic, and evaluate the integrity and bias of information sources, and make sense of complex and conflicting information
- Forecasting- make informed, unbaised predictions about the future, using PESTLE (Social, Technological, Economics, Enviromental, Political and Legal) analysis and Horizon Scanning approaches
- Scenario planning - create future-state scenarios, that imagine how the future may unfold, based on research and pairs of variables
- World-shapers - Explain the most world-changing social trends and technological innovations, their impact on humanity, and the ethical questions they raise
- Sustainability - Explain what sustainability is, and the importance and challenge of driving a sustainable future
- Intervening in the future - create big ideas that can prevent future risks and multiply future opportunities for a more sustainable future
